Welcome to the blog of Brooke and Cody’s engagement photos in Joshua Tree National Park!
As part of the wedding package there is an add-on that I offer to all my couples. Bridal couples can add on the option to travel anywhere they’d like for an epic adventure engagement session in an amazing location. Brooke and Cody wanted to do something really exciting and adventurous for their add on engagement session. So, guess where they chose. One of the most majestic national parks in America and arguably in the world – Joshua Tree National Park, California. What an adventure this breath-taking desert destination is.
My advice is, if you can manage to get away from your everyday location for engagement photos, then do it. Being photographed in a destination that you both already love or adventuring to a landscape you have never been to before is very exciting. Brooke and Cody synced their schedule with mine and flew out to California to meet me in Joshua Tree National Park. Desert locations are the best for secluded, intimate, adventure sessions. Brooke and Cody planned for the desert sunset, with natural light bouncing through the sky, making for some great photos. Golden glow in desert locations is unmatchable, but don’t take my word for it, seeing is believing! Enjoy as you look through the photos below of Brooke and Cody’s adventure engagement session.

Joshua Tree National Park is in the stunning state of California. For desert enthusiasts or couples wanting to experience a desert landscape, Joshua Tree is a fantastic place to start. Only a few hours from major busy cities like L.A., it is a serene 800,000 acres of southern California desert. Joshua Tree National Park is a meeting place for two deserts, the higher Mojave Desert and the lower Colorado Desert. Sheer natural beauty with full panoramic views of golden sands, desert flowers, magnificent boulders and of course – Joshua trees, which are unique to the area. Visitors can enjoy these natural surrounds 24/7 because it remains open all day, every day. People come to hike, camp, rock climb, elope, photograph and gaze at the star-filled sky. If you have never been to Joshua tree, then definitely consider it for your adventure engagement session, you won’t be disappointed.
Brooke and Cody love adventure, they are fun and friendly, and it was an absolute honor to capture their love story in a desert landscape. They look amazing together and brought along three sets of clothes to change into.
First, Brooke wore a casual, charcoal grey dress, with a denim jacket and white sandshoes. Cody wore a light grey jumper, tan jeans, and tan shoes. Secondly, Brooke wore a yellow flowy boho style dress with short, slit sleeves and white heels. Cody wore an ivory-colored hoody and black jeans. Thirdly, Brooke wears a spring floral dress and Cody wears an amber colored hoody and dark chocolate pants. One of my favorite photos of Brooke and Cody is when they are sitting on the massive boulders staring into each other’s eyes. The look of love in these photos is so raw and authentic.
