This Oregon Coast engagement session with Alex and Caleb was so fun! Adventure can be found almost anywhere if you are looking, however it’s hard to ignore the calling of the Oregon Coastline. The Oregon Coast is 362 miles long with dramatic, pristine, and arguably the best beach areas you will find in America. The Oregon Coastline is named in the National Geographic as one of the 100 most beautiful places in the world.
Alex and Caleb, our featured couple celebrating their engagement, made the most of their adventure photo session. They wanted a moody, coastal, adventurous vibe and we decided to meet up at the ever-popular Cannon Beach on the Oregon Coast. From there, we ventured up into the beautiful Ecola State Park where we captured awesome shots in the Crescent Beach and Indian Beach areas. As a traveling photographer/videographer I highly recommend destination adventure sessions for engagements.
The couple featured in these fun and adventurous engagement photos are Alex and Caleb. They enjoy quality time together and love to be in each other’s company. Whether dinner and theatre or relaxing at home with their dog, Alex and Caleb take time to dream of their future. They desire a lake house home with plenty of water sport toys! Their special memories made from their recent trip to Hawaii have fuelled a desire to put travel on their bucket list too. While Caleb will settle for anywhere with a pina colada on a beach, Alex has her heart set on an African safari.
Firstly, Cannon beach is where we started with fun and romantic, adventure engagement photos. Only nature surrounded the couple – sand, ocean, sky, and a 235 ft intertidal rock formation. This is the third-largest sea stack in the world, named Haystack Rock. Well known as a treasured backdrop for photography, we captured gorgeous pics of dancing, snuggling, and always holding hands. Secondly, after a change of clothes we hit the moody adventurous vibe at beautiful Ecola Park’s Crescent beach. A short hike down the grassy trail to the sandy shores for some more lovely engagement photos. Lastly, the rocky cliff edge meets the Pacific Ocean at the secluded Indian beach. There are so many moments of laughter, love and adventure captured in this Oregon Coast session. Alex and Caleb brought a casual set with jeans, t-shirts and denim jackets and a dressy outfit in black and white.

The three locations we went to for an adventure session, are amongst the most beautiful and accessible along the Oregon Coastline. Cannon Beach is in northwest Oregon, just south of Astoria and only an 80-mile drive west to Portland. It is a sweet sea-side village with plenty to do, eat and see. Ecola State Park where the Crescent and Indian Beach engagement photos are taken is at the north end of Cannon Beach and there is a $5 entry fee. Adventure couples will enjoy the 8-mile hiking trail – 1.25 miles to Crescent beach [a steep decline], 1.5 miles to Indian Beach and 6 more miles of trail that have breath-taking landscape.
