Welcome to the beautiful, whimsical wedding of Paige and Trent. Their special celebration took place in the gorgeous city of Holland, Michigan. A picturesque destination known for its rich Dutch culture, Big Red Lighthouse, and beachfront Holland State Park. Holland, Michigan has a wonderful mix of friendly, small-town hospitality, with big town services and amenities. Holland is an all seasons, timeless, vacation city on the picturesque Lake Michigan. Midway between Chicago and Detroit, it’s only a three-hour drive to this lovely, unique, relaxed, and celebratory city.
First off, the inspiration and historical influence of Holland, Michigan is sown into the landscape. There are quaint wooden bridges, a centuries-old windmill, and colorful tulips from late April to mid-May. The beautification project of 1927 was the vision of a high school teacher. They encouraged the council to purchase and plant 100,000 tulip bulbs from Netherlands into city parks. Holland, Michigan is fondly known as a tulip city. Tulips are the flowers known to mean true and perfect love. What a romantic landscape for a wedding. Sounds like a great city for two adventurous southern Californians, Paige and Trent, to happily marry in. Destination weddings/elopements are my favorite!
Paige wore an elegant, long-sleeved, boatneck bridal gown. A graceful v-back style with satin covered buttons to a perfect puddle train. Her up style sophisticated bun held a floor length sheer tulle veil, and her makeup was flawless. Trent wore a neutral toned linen suit with dark suspenders and a white long sleeved collared shirt. The Bridal party looked superb in a grey and ivory toned palette. Their wedding portraits look amazing, check them out below!
The vows were personalised and memorised by Paige & Trent. It was a beautiful moment they shared with their wedding guests and each other.
Below is a snippet:
Trent – “Sweetheart, I’m all in”.
Paige – “I’m all in, all yours forever”.
Trent – “I give you my entire heart”.
Paige – “And I trust you, to care for it tenderly”.
Trent – “I promise to always have your back”.
Paige – “I promise to always speak highly of you”.
Trent – “I commit to you and this marriage”
Paige – “Over everything else”.

Nestled on the shore beside the waterfront of Lake Macatawa is a wonderful restaurant, the ever-popular Boatwerks Waterfront Restaurant. This unique wedding venue has an endearing affiliation to being inspired and built to resemble the historic boat building factories. These busy establishments kept many employed throughout the ages as they built magnificent boats right on the shoreline. The factories had easy access to Lake Macatawa which feeds into Lake Michigan. In true form the professionalism of this restaurant/venue ensures bridal couples that every meal and service is outstanding. With excellent reviews, stunning lake view and elevated venue space inside and outside. A wedding at Boatwerks will bring a sure smile to all who attend your dream of a lifetime wedding. Most importantly, you will rejoice!
Boatwerks Waterfront Restaurant boasts a beautiful and serene outdoor ceremony space on direct waterfront. Guests are comfortably seated on white upscale chairs overlooking Lake Macatawa. As the elegant bride Paige arrived, a sweet flower girl spread white rose petals wherever she roamed. A desired bohemian style setting for Paige and Trent was achieved with boho florals and arbour.
The inside reception wedding venue is modern with loads of natural lighting through large windows and high ceilings. Beautiful chandeliers hang from grey beams and there are round tables and comfortable wooden seating. This wedding was gourmet buffet style with outstanding full-service. The food was delicious and cupcakes of marble, red velvet, carrot cake and lemon were a hit with all the guests.
As the sun set over the lake the fantastic outdoor lighting came on and the ceremony space became an excellent reception dance floor. Indoors and outdoors combine seamlessly to feel very private and secluded with plenty of open space. The Boatwerks Waterfront Restaurant ensure a personable and fun wedding day experience.
