This golden hour springtime intimate wedding in Mount Hood, Oregon will melt your heart. Bridal couple Ashley and Jacob are two of the kindest, sweetest, and most thoughtful people you could ever meet. So, what an honor it was, to be their photographer/videographer for both the proposal and wedding day. I see true value in destination multi-day weddings and have a passion for documenting couple’s authentic love story. It has been a really fun experience to get to know this couple, including shooting their proposal.
Oregon is a stunning state and known for its PNW wild and pristine landscape. There are wonderful wedding venues in a choice of coastal, forest, mountain, river, and lake locations.
Ashley and Jacob’s awesome two-story log cabin home by the river was comfortable and welcoming. The cabin had a fantastic wraparound deck, perfect for their ceremony, reception, and dance space. Guests were comfortably seated in a romantic open air sunny outdoor setting. Everyone enjoyed the tranquillity of the flowing river. The views of Mount Hood in the distance and acres of evergreen woodlands made the perfect ceremony backdrop.
Every wedding is wonderfully unique and acknowledging the personal touches of the bride and groom reveals more about what they love, believe and care about. What stood out at this intimate Mount Hood wedding was the shared faith that Ashley and Jacob have in Jesus Christ. There were three main ways in which this was actioned on their wedding day.
First, their theme verse – John 15:12 Love each other as I have loved you. Second, their ceremonial washing of each other’s feet to reflect Jesus washing the disciple’s feet in an act of servanthood. Thirdly, their wedding vows, which you can view on the below YouTube video. The bridal couples love for each other comes from their love and devotion of their faith in Jesus.
In the vows Ashley says, “Just three weeks into our relationship, I wrote in my journal, that I would be surprised if we didn’t get married and now here we are, making this lifelong covenant with each other, before God and in the presence of our closest friends and family members”.
Ashley radiated joy and beauty throughout the whole wedding experience. She wore an elegant crossover sweetheart, sleeveless fit and flare wedding dress, with lace applique and beaded crystals. There is a lovely photo of her Mom lacing up the back bodice of her dress. Accessories included leaf drop earrings, solitaire pendant necklace, floral bridal clip, 2 pairs of shoes and a stunning floral spring bouquet. Bridesmaids looked classic and graceful in pretty shades of pink flowy dresses.
Jacob looked fantastic in a three-piece charcoal grey tux, with crisp white cuff shirt, tan, brown leather suspenders, burnt orange bowtie and polished tan shoes. All the male bridal party wore black suits and cool socks and Jacob’s had grizzly bears with a catch of salmon on them. MR & MRS Grigor planned a superb, memorable, intimate, Mt Hood spring wedding and their golden hour sunset portraits by the river are stunning.
Ashley and Jacob had their heart set on the gorgeous panorama of the majestic Mount Hood. They got married at a cabin on the river in Rhododendron, Oregon which is essentially at the base of Mount Hood. Located within the beautiful Mount Hood Corridor on Scenic Mount Hood Byway, U.S. Route 26 in Clackamas County. Rhododendron aptly named for the beautiful native flower it produces, is less than an hour drive southwest from Mt Hood Parklands on OR Route 35.
