Welcome to the blog of this beautiful summer multi-day wedding celebrating the marriage of Alissa and Ben. It is always a privilege to photograph and video the love story of bridal couples. We had the best time at their multi-day beautiful summer wedding in Mackinac Island, MI.
Bridal couple, Alissa and Ben have been together for over 7 years. They went to graduate school together, bought a house together and have two fur babies together. This beautiful traditional summer wedding in Mackinac Island was almost all outdoors. Making the most of having family and friends at the multi-day wedding, Alissa’s Dad handmade large signs and wooden games to be enjoyed by all. Her talented family helped design and paint them, and the beautiful, manicured lawns were the perfect outdoor area to play. Wedding photos capture the couple having a fun time with their supportive and loving family and friends.
Alyssa says, “Ben and I are really proud to say that we planned and paid for this wedding all on our own. We have planned for it to be exactly what WE have always dreamed of.” Their desire was to see guests appreciating the beautiful Mackinac Island wedding venue and enjoying the good food, good music, and good company. Wedding photos are proof that all they desired and dreamed for their special day happened.
Alissa wore a stunning white lace appliqued dress with a sweetheart neckline and deep scoop back. Her scallop edged bridal dress and train showed off her Jimmy Choo soft pink sparkling crystal points. Darreth Colburn jewelry was the perfect complement for this bridal attire and Alissa’s upstyle bridal bun. Ben wore a navy-blue tux with formal white shirt, floral rose tie, brown belt and shoes and funky socks. Bridesmaids looked lovely in sage green with pale peach and creamy white roses. Alissa and Ben are a very generous couple. They gave their wedding party gifts including socks, sunglasses, earrings, purse, etc which we are super excited about! Check out Alissa and Ben’s bridal photos and imagine your beautiful summer wedding on Mackinac Island, MI.
Firstly, on the evening prior to the wedding, I shot photos at the rehearsal experience, which included a boat cruise out under the Mackinac Bridge. Guests boarded the Isle Royale Queen 111 – for a sip and sail cruise of Lake Huron on sunset. Photographers love beautiful summer sunset photos and on the water off Mackinac Island made my job easy and enjoyable!

Mackinac Island wedding venue the ‘Inn at Stonecliffe’, is a grand and elegant Victorian mansion. Stately positioned on lush land with lake and woodland views, it is the perfect venue for an outdoor fairy-tale summer wedding. Black and white toned exterior with a romantic turret, attics, steep peak rooflines and lantern front door lighting make for a regal welcome.
Alissa and Ben had beautiful wedding portraits in the surrounding pretty gardens, full of white hydrangeas and woodland pines. An older stonehedge fence overlooking Lake Huron combined with the chestnut horses that led the horse drawn carriage gave this wedding a special traditional vibe.
The ceremony took place on the green lawn in front of the mansion. An elegant setting with comfortable white seating for guests and a white rose petal path for the bridal party to walk on. Heartfelt personalised vows were declared under the circular floral arbour – the symbol of wedding rings and endless love. Magnificent Marquis held the celebration reception, with white-on-white furniture and furnishings. Greenery with pale peach and white roses filled table vases and overhanging halo pendant lighting. Each guest’s table had a lovingly decorated circle of photos connecting the bridal couples lives with good times and guests. View the wedding photos to see the top features of the Inn at Stonecliffe.
